Hotel Indigo Memphis: Why this is the best hotel we've ever stayed in!
Originally built as Holiday Inn in 1952 in Downtown Memphis, this large hotel on BB King Boulevard underwent a massive transformation over the last year and a half. The new Hotel Indigo Memphis has 119 guest rooms, all thoughtfully and creatively decorated to remind guests of the storied history of musical greats in Memphis.
Original artwork, wall length murals, and even antique radios from the past 75 years are just a few of the ways the hotel staff show off their decorative genius. The theme of circles can be found from the moment you enter and throughout the hotel. These circles represent the vintage microphone receivers you would have found in the 1950-1960s. Interestingly enough, guest rooms only occupy the top 3 floors in the hotel (8-10), because the hotel actually hits atop a 6 story parking garage.
When Holiday Inn did this nearly 70 years ago, they were the first in the United States to do so. On the 8th floor, guests will find the swimming pool and cabana bar.
3rd and Court is only located in the hotel, featuring old-fashioned diner style meals, from breakfast to dinner. The rooms come with sweeping views of Downtown Memphis, the most comfortable bed and pillows you will find, and a Keurig.
The bathroom is spacious with a large vanity and a shower with an extra bathing wand. The water pressure, usually not impressive in downtown hotels, will make want to stay in forever. Just before the elevator on all floors is a small sitting area bordered by balcony that will further the views of this beautiful city. Hotel Indigo in Downtown Memphis is a world-class hotel with all the feels of home. Their staff is personable and will make your stay the best yet. So, the next time you’re traveling to the Home of the Blues, call Hotel Indigo at 901-527-2215. You will always remember your stay in this destination hotel.
